Dr Mooruth graduated as a medical doctor in 2006 from UCT. Thereafter, he trained in anaesthesia in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng for 11 years. He obtained his Diploma in Anaesthesia in 2010 and was awarded the Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists of South Africa in 2014. He then obtained his Master of Medicine in Anaesthesia in 2015. He worked as a specialist anaesthesiologist at Charlotte Maxeke Academic hospital until he left to work full time in private practice in 2017.
